Should The Church Teach Tithing?

Friends, I am not opposed to financially supporting churches and the advancement of God's kingdom. However I am opposed to supporting churches using the false doctrine of NT tithing instead of better New Covenant freewill offering principles.
I dearly love the Southern Baptist Church and hurt inside to see what is slowly happening to it. It has forgotten its own history and roots. It is slowly giving more and more control to the upper echelon. For balance, I ask to sit and discuss this with the stewardship committee. If I did not love this church I would not bother to publish what is found on these pages. May love for Christ, His Word, His Church, His children and lost souls coupled with integrity and selflessness motivate everything we do is my prayer.
